Here are some of the most frequently asked questions I've received:
The answer to this varies greatly depending on a number of factors: content type, GUI features, complexity of the data, number of pages, etc. I provide estimates on a case-by-case basis, but typical turnaround time is 6-9 weeks. If you wish to receive an estimate as to how your site may fit into my development schedule, please feel free to contact me.
Again, the answer varies greatly but I strongly believe that everyone's vision deserves a chance to be brought to fruition and that cost should not prohibit that. I'll do my best to work with you to come up with a pricing model you're comfortable with. Contact me today to begin the development process.
Absolutely. I typically communicate development progress to clients in a variety of ways to make sure that I'm "staying on the right track." So long as we stay within the scope of the project, I fully expect for there to be adjustments along the way.
Usually, no. A new site can be developed without removing your current site and then when everything is ready, the new features can be revealed. The activation progress involves running a series of performance tests to make sure everything is working as intended and is done at a time when site traffic is at a minimum.
I can provide webmaster services. However, I find that most clients are better served with website upgrades that increase the efficiency and speed with which updates can be made. This way, you're still in control of the site but your maintenance time is drastically reduced. Check out the portfolio for examples of websites where updates and maintenance were made easy for anyone to do.
No, I encourage clients to choose the hosting that best suits their needs. While many of my clients are hosted on servers that I "virtually host," it is not a necessity. I'm well-versed in many programming languages and can work on nearly any hosting environment provided.
I do everything I can to make sure your site is search engine-friendly and compatible with all the major browsers. Once development is complete, there are steps one can take to increase website traffic, but this is not my area of expertise.
To get your site noticed, you may want to enlist the services of a marketer. They can work wonders with search engine submittals, establishing strong presences on social networking sites, press releases, and much more. |
